How Everroad makes money

Today, Everroad sells nothing. There are no ads, sponsored listings, paid placements, lead fees or affiliate links on Everroad. No dealer pays to be listed, to be left off, or to move up a list.

Our publisher does have dealer clients. Everroad is published by Cloute Motors LLC, which sells marketing services to some dealers listed here. That never changes who is listed, the order, or the facts. Cloute Motors' client contracts do not include anything on Everroad: no placement, no preview, no editing rights and no say in the methodology.

If Everroad ever sells sponsored placements

We have not decided to sell placements. If we do, these rules apply, and this page will be updated before the first one appears:

  1. Labeled. Every paid placement says "Sponsored" in plain text right next to it. You will not have to hover or click to see the label.
  2. Kept out of the lists. Sponsored placements appear in a separate box, never inside a list or table of dealers. They do not change any dealer's position, inclusion or facts. They are not included in Everroad's data downloads or machine-readable files.
  3. Same terms for every dealer. Any franchise dealer in the area can buy the same placement at the same published price and on the same terms, whether or not it is a Cloute Motors client. A placement will not be refused to a dealer because it competes with a client.
  4. No prices. Sponsored placements never show vehicle prices, payments, discounts, savings claims or trade-in offers.
  5. Links marked. Links in sponsored placements carry rel="sponsored".
  6. Disclosed here. This page will list the types of placements sold and how they are priced.
